Luxury hotel with a great garden, spacious and intimate. It s rare to find in Guatemala such service quality. The rooms are spotless, well decorated and full of extra touches that makes the experience unique.
However on the flip side, you can also spot some gaps which are lowering the quality and uniqueness of the experience here. For instance, there was a power cut the entire time of our stay which resulted in no light and water (shower/bath) in our room part of the time (they had a generator working some hours though, making a loud ambient noise). They excuse themselves of course but there was no intention to compensate us for the lack of comfort, which is surprising to me for such place.
Another example at breakfast, which the fee for the room included: we discovered it was only including the continental breakfast, any deviation from it or suggestion to replace the breakfast with something else was refused categorically and priced fully. I don’t care about the cost, but this gave us a strange feeling of willing to save money on us…
Finally, they are organizing frequently events there, which was the case the day after our checkout. Numerous workers were walking around the garden carrying stuff, preparing the event, making noises, etc. This means that our expectation to relax in the garden was cut short by the beehive like activity that day.
Overall, a great experience, but not yet worth the price. Still a great place and not even Santo Domingo hotel can compete with it.
Last thing: the food is excellent and one of the best cuisine you can find in Guatemala. Congrats to the chef Marcos!
Just went for lunch with family… place, service n food are great, quiet, a bit in the expensive side but not too much… service was spotless!
The attention to detail is so incredible. They give you options for diffusers for your room as well as scented pillows. Gorgeous setting. It’s 10 or so minutes from the city center and there is a shuttle to bring you back and forth. I absolutely loved staying here and highly recommend the experience 💫
I just finish having brunch at Villa Bokeh. I am very disappointed after visiting the hotel restaurant:
1. The food is mediocre for being a high end restaurant, no flavor at all. They have someone making fresh blue corn tortillas but they serve you convenience store corn tortillas with your dishes. I still don’t know why they where making fresh tortillas for. I asked the waiter and he didn’t have an answer.
2. Tourist be careful. This restaurant will charge you for items you didn’t ask for. On top of that you have to pay a 10% tip even if the service is bad plus they also ask you for extra tip. Don’t over too a bad service.
3. Seems like a kid friendly restaurant but be aware because the tables are in between columns and flower pots purposely place close to your table. My kid was trying to pass by a column to be able to sit and accidentally hit a flower glass pot which got broken. I gave my apologies and asked if everything was ok, and they made it look like no big of a deal. But after I finish eating the waiter told me I have to pay $60 dollars for the pot.
Lastly, I asked for the flower pot receipt and they didn’t have it. They never apologized for the bad food service or that my kid almost cut him/herself when the flower pot broke accidentally by his hand but they definitely were worried about me paying the $60 dollars for the $5 dollar flower pot. I was suppose to arrange a weeding reception at Villa Bokeh for the spring 2024 but after my first and last visit to this place, I chose Camino Real in Antigua which has way more amenities and better view of the Volcán de agua.
So if you visit this restaurant do it for the view of the Volcano( which you can do better views in antigua) but save yourselves the food disappointment, not worth it. The Antigua has way better food in small bars and restaurants.
This is a very nice hotel with pretty scenery, but that doesn't justify the way that the service treats you. We tried to go eat lunch 3 times, and they didn't let us in because we didn't have a reservation. The way they treated us at the …
This place is really like out of a movie. My family and I came for Sunday brunch, and we got really surprised. When you see the photos, you can tell the place is beautiful, but in person is even better. Their great garden, the nature, the ambiance. We liked it so much that next time we'll be back to stay at the hotel.
My friends and I decided to have a celebratory brunch at the Chateaux. After being seated we went to find the restroom, and was met with the extremely rude, dismissive and disrespectful receptionist Christian. He immediately begin questioning why we were there and asking us for the name on our reservation. We explained to him we had just been seated and were trying to locate the restroom. He completely overlooked what we said and told us we couldn't be there if we didn't have a reservation. I firmly explained we had already been seated and needed a restroom. My friend then asked if she could use his plug for a charger, he then went on a tangent about how we could not take any photos at the property. Which was extremely ridiculous given we hadn't taken any photos, had just been seated and ordered our coffee and simply wanted to use the washroom before eating. I chose to ignore the encounter.
There are many beautiful places for us to give our business too in Antigua. Nothing could justify the mistreatment we received from Christian.
The food however was amazing and the Chef's customer service was outstanding he came to the table himself and asked how our meal was. If we hadn't received such bad treatment from the receptionist I would visit again.
Beautiful gardens, excellent service, delicious food... You may also find vegetarian or vegan options.
